He earned his undergraduate degree from Lake Forest College before receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998.
After graduation, Dr. Potter began his career as an associate veterinarian at a mixed animal practice in California, where he spent three years caring for both large and small animal patients. He then returned to Georgia to join a small animal practice in Gainesville, where he would go on to become the owner. Over the next 20 years, he led the practice while developing lasting relationships with clients and caring for generations of pets and their families.
Today, in addition to practicing medicine at Buckhead Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Potter works with veterinarians across the Atlanta area, mentoring and supporting doctors throughout their careers while helping foster high-quality patient care and collaborative veterinary teams.
Dr. Potter enjoys all aspects of companion animal medicine, with a particular passion for building strong relationships with clients and partnering with families to help their pets live long, healthy lives. He values collaboration, lifelong learning, and creating a positive experience for both pets and the people who love them.
Dr. Potter lives in Atlanta’s Kirkwood neighborhood. Outside the clinic, he enjoys spending time outdoors, woodworking, mountain biking, gardening, and cooking. He appreciates any opportunity to build, create, or explore—whether that’s in his workshop, on the trails, or in the kitchen.
